Kids' denim: built for
the hardest wear-test.

Folded kids jeans in a golden ring display

Summary: children are the most demanding denim customers alive — they kneel, slide, climb and grow. Manufacturing for them is not shrinking an adult pattern; it is a different engineering brief: softer washes, reinforced stress zones, safer hardware and sizing that anticipates growth.

Construction: reinforce where childhood happens

Knees and seat take loads adult jeans never see. Serious kidswear specifies bartacks at every stress point, densely-set seams, and — for play-focused lines — double-layer knees. On our kids' lines these are defaults, not upgrades; the ASF kids' block descends from our workwear engineering, scaled with care.

Washes: soft hand, honest colour

A child's skin argues for enzyme-led, softener-finished washes rather than harsh abrasion; a parent's washing machine argues for colourfast casts that survive weekly cycles. Our kids' recipes are built exactly between those two constraints — soft enough for skin, stable enough for Saturday laundry.

Hardware for small hands

Buttons a six-year-old can manage, zips that do not catch, rivets set flush, elastic-adjustable waistbands that grow a size without looking like it. Where markets require, nickel-safe finishes are specified — flagged per destination and documented with the order.

Sizing that respects growth

Kids' grading is not linear shrinking: rises, leg lengths and waist ratios shift by age band. Turned-up cuffs — a signature of our kids' lookbook — are function disguised as style: a season of growth lives in that fold. Parents notice; repeat purchase follows.

Same lines, same standard

The quiet truth of kidswear manufacturing: it is often subcontracted to lighter workshops. Ours is not. Kids' garments run on the same lines, same original YKK hardware, same QC tables as our adult collections — inspected to the same written standard. A smaller waistband is not a smaller promise.

For brands adding a kids' line

  • Start from your adult bestseller's DNA — recognisable, but re-engineered, never just scaled.
  • Consolidate fabrics with the adult program to meet minimums once.
  • Plan the size run by your market's age bands; we grade to them.

See the miniature turntable on our kids' collection page, then send the plan through the Order Atelier.
